Subaru Certified Vehicles
Some of our pre-owned Subaru vehicles are even in such perfect condition that they meet the stringent requirements of the “Subaru Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle” program, which offers many advantages. To be eligible for this program, the Subaru used vehicle must meet the following criteria:
- Be less than eight years of age (model years) and display less than 160,000 km on the odometer
- Pass a 152-point inspection by a technician trained by Subaru
- Have a clear car history report -CarProof–
The greatest benefit of the “Subaru Certified Used Vehicle” program is s the limited warranty on the vehicle. Depending on the vehicle’s age and mileage, the new owner will receive a limited warranty on his or her Subaru certified used vehicle that includes full coverage and coverage for major components, including the powertrain. Four scenarios are foreseen:
- Subaru vehicles with a new vehicle’s original limited warranty period (36 months/60,000 km) of more than 6 months/10,000 km. These vehicles are sold with the remaining portion of the manufacturer’s new vehicle limited warranty which can be enhanced with a Subaru Protection Plan to extend the duration and mileage of coverage.
- Subaru vehicles with an original new vehicle limited warranty (36 months/60,000 km) that is still in effect but less than 6 months/10,000 km (whichever occurs first). These vehicles are sold with a Subaru Certified Vehicle Limited Warranty of 42 months/70,000 km (whichever comes first) from the initial date of commissioning. This warranty can be enhanced with a Subaru Protection Plan to extend the duration and mileage of coverage.
- Subaru vehicles that are no longer protected by the New Vehicle Limited Warranty (36 months / 60,000 km) are five years old or less, and have an odometer reading of less than 100,000 km. These vehicles are sold with a 6-month/10,000 km Subaru Certified Vehicle Limited Warranty, which can be enhanced with a Subaru Protection Plan to extend the duration and mileage of coverage.
- Subaru vehicles up to eight years old with between 100,000 km and 160,000 km on the odometer. These vehicles are sold with a 3-month/5,000 km Subaru Certified Vehicle Limited Warranty, which can be enhanced with a Subaru Protection Plan to extend the duration and mileage of coverage.
Become a Member of the Road Emergency Service (RES)
The owner of a used Subaru-certified vehicle also becomes a member of the Subaru program R.E.S 360 (Road Emergency Service). 24-hour roadside assistance in Canada and in the United States by Subaru, supported by the largest association of roadside assistance contractors in Canada the CAA (Canadian Automobile Association). As such, it has an exclusive SUBARU/CAA toll-free number that gives it access to more than 20,000 roadside assistance contractors and 1,000 CAA and AAA (American Automobile Association) offices across Canada and the United States. Subaru program RES 360 may also be extended before term.
Financing Used Cars
Subaru certified used vehicles are also very beneficial in terms of financing. The rate is only 1.9% for 24-month financing on all Subaru certified second-hand vehicles. Depending on the age of the vehicle, other attractive financing options on 36, 48 and 60 months are also available.
Satisfied or Exchanged
If you are not satisfied with your Subaru certified used vehicle, you will be able to exchange it at your Subaru dealer within the first 10 days or the first 1,000 kilometres from the date of purchase.
The initial buyer or lessee of the Subaru Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle may exchange the eligible vehicle for another Subaru certified used vehicle of equal or lesser value and receive a credit equivalent to the difference. If the purchase price of the replacement vehicle is higher than the agreed value of the replaced vehicle, the buyer will have to pay the difference.
